At the Intercultural Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans (CEDO), Earth Day celebrations began early with their 1st Family Day event held on Saturday, April 21st. Various activities, including kayaking and nature talks for the whole family, were held in working to raise ecological awareness and knowledge about our surroundings. Remember, Puerto Peñasco is part of the Upper Gulf of California Biosphere Reserve, encompassing the Pinacate and Desert of Altar and the Bahía of Adair.  Among the day’s activities was a treasure hunt where children and families sought out items through clues provided from the friendly CEDO staff.  It was a fun family day with Mother Earth, one where we all win!
