En madrugada del 15 habrá un eclipse total de luna que inaugura la tétrada, el periodo conocido popularmente como 'cuatro lunas de sangre' que es una sucesión de eclipses que sucederán entre 2014 y 2015 y en los que la luna de  adquiere un característico color rojo. Esta privilegiada región de Norteamérica podrá ver este fenómeno un total de cuatro veces durante en este tiempo.
